August 11th Perth Institute of Contemprary Arts, In conjunction the exhibition Cybercultures at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, FEAR with will host a seminar on the future of art in the wake of new technologies. Are electronic arts just a new tool for the artist, or are they fundamentally changing the way we imagine and live our lives? A fundamental aspect in the future of culture is a serious and sustained investment in the imaginative use and development of creative content in the networked world.

Project X
Project X is about creating networks that bring together shared interests, concerns, and fascinations. With the intention of creating a 'thoughtography' this project begins with Perth, Western Australia, where the collaborators are currently based. Under a number of headings, including Stasis, Panorama, and Nature, this project constructs a visualisation that shows rather than tells something about Perth, its history and its present.
From what many of its inhabitants fondly refer to as the 'most isolated capital city in the world' the project will expand, deepen and extend outwards to form an evermore unified complex of relationships and linkages.
